The third conference day will feature a keynote by Alberto J. Cañas and the Conference Dinner
03. August 2012
The last conference day will include a keynote by Jari Multisilta. The conference will close at 12:30.
Keynote Speakers

Professor Stefanie Lindstaedt is head of the Knowledge Management Institute of Graz University of Technology, Austria and scientific director of the Know-Center, Austria’s Competence Center for Knowledge Management. Her research includes the analsysis of knowledge work, the development of innovative knowledge services, and the evaluation of such services within real world work environments. Prof. Lindstaedt specifically focuses on the integration of soft computing with semantic approaches as well as human-computer interaction.

Professor Jari Multisilta is the Director of the crossdisciplinary network on learning i.e. CICERO Learning hosted by University of Helsinki, Finland. He has also been a visiting researcher at Nokia Research Centre as well as at the
H-STAR Institute at Stanford University. Professor Multisilta has wide ranging experience in research on learning technology; his current research focuses on the use of mobile devices and social media in learning.

Alberto J. Cañas was born in Costa Rica. He received a Bachelors Degree in Computer Engineering from the Instituto Tecnologico de Monterrey, Mexico, and a M. Math Degree in Computer Science and a Ph.D. in Management Science, both from the University of Waterloo, Canada. He is Co-Founder, Senior Research Scientist and an Associate Director of the Institute for Human and Machine Cognition in Pensacola, Florida, where he has led the research and development of CmapTools, a free software suite that is used worldwide by users of all ages to collaboratively construct, publish and share concept maps. Alberto has spend many years has been involved in the use of technology in education in has been actively participating in educational projects in many countries.
